venus flytrap

I saw this "a bit scary" plant at Safeway. After debating, I decided to buy one as I have found few fruit flies in my place. (I don't really mind, though hate seeing those drowned in Strawberry's water bowl.)

I looked for some growing tips, and found out the plant will be hibernating over the winter. Amazing.



So far, it has trapped one fruit fly and a big one. (I don't know how the big fly came in to my place - I always keep my screen shut. Did the plant attract it?) It is very weird feeling to see a carnivore plant working in front of me. I don't dare touch it with my bare hand.

It has been so hot lately, and we had trouble sleeping.
Last night, we decided to sleep in our living room. We left the balcony door open for breeze.

This setting reminded me of my younger days. When I was a kid, if the weather is hot, everybody slept in the living room watching TV shows. A sweet memory of summer.

Sunday which only had an afternoon

Today is the kind of Sundays I like. Late breakfast with friends and nap.

We went the dimsum place I posted before. Great time with people we like. Then we went for shopping and got a big pack of blueberries. This year's blueberries are so big and sweet. Yummy.

Then I had a long nap. It was already four when I woke up. I made iced cafe latte, and while I was doing it a song remained stuck in my head so I embedded it above. A beautiful Korean song - the title is the Sunday which only had an afternoon.

Finally...

...my geranium has flowered.

I love plants but I am afraid of bugs.

That's one of the reasons I like geraniums - they repel bugs. This year, I decided to buy couple of geraniums and enjoy endless flowering for the summer. It was in March.

However, since this summer is too cold, there have been no flowers so far. :-(


This morning, I was excited to find the buds. I can even see the tiny red tip inside. Yahoo!

New sofa

I bought new sofa yesterday.

My old one was from Korea, we shipped it not knowing that with the shipping cost, we could get ten times better one. 

Anyway, I have been wanting the sofa for months, and since I was in a weird mood recently, decided to buy one.
